Chion-In

One of a number of Buddhist temples in the Kyoto area, this was Ru's favorite place, as I recall. I found it lovely, however, the steps of doom (... rather steep set of stairs, and a lot of them, to get to the top) would make me tired to even think of. Of course, the climb always proved to be worth it.

This particular day we'd wandered across the temple in our search for the Yasaka shrine. It was the 10th of July, and some ceremony in regards to the Gion Festival that we'd come to see was supposed to be taking place... We stuck around a bit, sat in the temple, enjoyed chanting... I'll have to let Ru tell her thoughts on the event, but I really did enjoy myself.
